Sunshine Remembers Our Dear Friend, Irv Homer May 29, 1924 - June 24, 2009 The Sunshine Foundation mourns the loss of our beloved friend, Irv Homer. Irv was the The Voice of Sunshine, and has been a dedicated friend to the Sunshine Foundation since Sunshines beginning in 1976. Irv who was a controversial talk show host on WWBD, since 1975, used his wide popularity to let the public know of his love for Sunshine and the chronically ill, seriously ill, physically challenged and abused children we serve. Irv, better known as Evil Irv among his many friends and devoted listeners, was the Secretary/Treasurer of the Sunshine Foundation, and served on the Board of Directors since Sunshines inception. Irv never missed an opportunity to speak on the Sunshine Foundation and his strong belief in the services it provided. Through his efforts to spread sunshine, Irv has raised millions of dollars for the Sunshine Foundation and helped to fulfill the dreams of thousands of our special children. Everyone knew and loved Irv, proven by the many people who called Sunshines National Headquarters, in Feasterville, PA to speak with him and by how many donations were made to the Sunshine Foundation in his honor. Bill Sample, Sunshines President, who was a devoted friend to Irv Homer, will miss his morning breakfasts with Irv at the Suburban Diner in Feasterville, PA, where they met each day to discuss Sunshine Foundation business and the plans for its future. The world lost a wonderful man, with Irvs passing, but for those of us at Sunshine who knew and loved him, a piece of Sunshine left with him. He will remain in our hearts and prayers forever.
